AR XA model belt drive turntable

This was my first big vintage audio project. Mostly, I've replaced lamps in receivers and cleaned the pots. This AR XA belt drive turntable was a mess when I bought it. The plastic dust cover was covered with years old masking tape that had become glued to the cover. It took soaking in water and a lot of WD-40, but after removing the tape it looks great. The tone arm wiring was shot so I had to completely replace it, including soldering the leads in the wood housing beneath the plinth. This cabinet is oiled walnut according to the label on the underside of the plinth. I also buffed out the bronze counter weight, tone arm and other aluminum pieces.

Now sounds and looks great!
