Frugal Living Doesn't Mean Giving Up the Good Life

Pendleton, Levi's 501s, Red Wing Pecos boots
Getting back to stylish dress on a small budget, all of these items (below), with one exception, were purchased at thrift stores. (The exception is the pair of Woolrich Yankee boots, which were purchased new, but at a deep, deep discount. See below.)

With some perseverance, OK, a lot of perseverance, you can grab some great, name-brand clothes on the cheap. This is really living a frugal lifestyle, without sacrificing quality or style.

Even the sterling silver belt buckles, one by renown silversmith William Spratling, were found at thrift shops. The other is a ranger set (buckle, keeps and tip) with turquoise inlaid in sterling silver. Both buckles were in the $6-$8 range.

The boots ranged from $10 to $70 with retail prices starting at $100 and going to $400. And the denim was no more than $15.

Check out our six tips for successful thrifting: three here and three more here!
