Reading the Leaves: Coolest Teapot Invention

Jenaer Glas Globo teapot made in Germany
Another view of the tilting teapot

This teapot is so cool!

It has a mesh strainer under the lid, which you fill with tea and then add the hot water. Then you tilt the pot back to rest on the handle to steep the tea.

When you've got the tea the right strength, you tilt the pot forward on its front legs and the strainer is then above the water line so the tea stays perfect, not getting stewed!

A perfect example of great engineering and beautiful design: form and function.

We had one teapot that was so poorly designed you could tell the maker had never made a cup of tea with their own product. I feel like this designer was a tea lover.
